We pride ourselves on accurate assessment, diagnosis and treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries. Our staff have undertaken post graduate qualifications to give you peace of mind that you are receiving the best care possible.
Giovanni Comuzzo
Principal Physiotherapist/Director
Giovanni or Gio as he is known to his patients is the owner and principal physiotherapist of Performance Rehab Physiotherapy. Giovanni graduated from university in 2010 gaining further post graduate qualifications in rehabilitation with a return a return to work and return to sport focus.
Giovanni has spent the last 13 years perfecting his diagnostic accuracy and treatment plans for his patients and continues to undertake professional development to further align with best practice guidelines for treatment.
Given the reputation Giovanni has built up in Auckland this has allowed him to create strong working relationships with some of Auckland’s top Orthopaedic Surgeons and Sports Physicians allowing for prompt management and care of specific injuries/conditions.
Giovanni also has a keen interest in injury management using joint braces and currently receives referrals for specific bracing management from various specialists.
In his spare time Giovanni is kept busy with his family and is known to frequent the beach and bike tracks. He has also served his local community as a volunteer fire fighter.
Jo Sinton
Senior Physiotherapist
Jo graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science – Physiotherapy degree from Sydney University in 1998. Upon graduation, Jo worked in the Public Health systems both in Australia and England, before moving to NZ in 2002.
Since moving to NZ Jo has worked within the private practice setting. Her passion for sport and fitness has seen her work with the inaugural LG Mystics netball team, training camps for U13/U15 NZ football, Auckland-Waitakere Netball NPC teams, The Diamonds netball team, NZ Secondary Schools netball team, The Sonics Women’s Basketball team, and more recently Touch North Harbour Masters teams at Nationals and the World Master’s Games.
Jo has a hands on approach to treatment and rehabilitation, and regularly attends courses to remain up to date with the current knowledge within the field of Physiotherapy.
Hope Mead
Senior Physiotherapist
With more than 25 years as a Physiotherapist, Hope has experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries. Whether you are injured from sports, work, general lifestyle accidents, or after surgery, Hope can help you to achieve your goals of rehabilitation. With a gentle “hands on” approach, and nurturing nature, Hope is an ideal choice for any age from young to more mature. Especially good with those that may be a little unsure if Physiotherapy is right for them.
Hope lives locally with her husband and 2 youngest boys while her oldest son has flown the nest. She has a background in Netball, walking half marathons, and currently keeps fit with social jogging, cycling and swimming.
Hope is dedicated to finding solutions for all of your injury concerns using her holistic approach to the body.
Carole Aurora
Physiotherapist
Carole is originally from France and she has also lived in the UK and in Portugal. New Zealand has now been her home for nearly two decades, and she enjoys living the rural lifestyle out in South Head with her two daughters and many animals. She loves anything to do with food, the outdoors and enjoys a little bit of running, yoga and Pilates
Carole has had many “hats” over the years, glassblower, translator, horse rider, gardener, and in 2020 she decided to return to university to train as a physiotherapist and graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of physiotherapy in 2023. Through clinical experience, she has acquired a variety of skills and knowledge to develop a strong foundation to address a diverse range of musculoskeletal issues while provide high quality patient care.
Carole approaches therapy with a holistic and practical hands-on approach with a mix of manual therapy techniques and exercise rehabilitation. She treats the whole body, with a particular interest in the spine, posture, and biomechanics. She is passionate about working together with clients to achieve successful long-term results. Her greatest joy is seeing her clients’ recovery progress and their return to a pain free function so they can start enjoying their life again.
Debbie Craighead
Practice Manager
Debbie is the friendly face who will greet you at reception.
She started working as a receptionist in a physiotherapy clinic in 2006 working her way up to Practice Management. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience dealing with all physio administration tasks and is an expert when it comes to dealing with ACC, generating new claims and ensuring the documentation is completed correctly and giving you the correct information and informative advice in regards to your claim.
On a personal note, Debbie is happily married to Andrew and has 2 adult children, both married and a lovely wee granddaughter who is the light of her life. She enjoys spending time with family, entertaining and socialising and also enjoys lots of walking. If you live in the Kumeu/Huapai area you may just see her out pounding the streets.
